Now that I'm "anchored" , I'm looking for the search possibility on the site.

According the FAQ : "You may search for specific posts based on a word or words found in the posts, user name, date, and particular forum(s). Simply click on the "search" link at the top of most pages."

But I can't find this "search link" .....[:I]

What should I do?

At the top of this page you will see SEARCH...Click it...Then you will see the subscription page...Scroll down to the bottom and you will see...If you are already a subscriber, click here to enter the subscriber's section...then you will be asked to login...after you login Click here to Continue...then you are in here...Subscriber Contents Page

Search the Forum (past year)
The "How To" Pages
Navigation Lights Test
On Line Charts - Maptech
On Line Charts - ENC
All About Salvage
Boat Towing

If you are a new member, you now have access to the "Not Boating Related" forum, the "How To" forum and the "Non-Boating Toys" forum. You can also search the past topics (above). If you get a server time out error, just narrow your search to one forum and/or a shorter time period.
You can also include an avatar in your postings. Open your profile from the "My Profile" link on the RO's menu. Please resize your image down to no more than 82x82 pixels wide. The image should be no larger than about 5K bytes. Anything larger than that causes access problems for dial up users and just wastes bandwidth. The "box" that the image fits in is 82x82 - there is no advantage in posting an image larger than that. Thanks - and Welcome....

Pick one and away you go...

There is no such thing as a stupid question...If you don't know the answer it's not stupid...

Above the active topics link, you will see a drop down called "RO’s Menu". Click the down arrow. Click on the "Subscribers Section" selection. That will take you to a log in screen. Enter your screen name and password. click “OK”

That will bring you to a screen that says:

Login was successful!
Close Window

Click on Click here to Continue. The top link on that page is the search link. The more you narrow it down, the faster it will operate. For example, if you have a question concerning a situation with the head on your boat, you would narrow the search to the most likely source “marine sanitation”.
HTH
Good luck.

Sorry carver2557,

I don't see the "SEARCH" on top of this page as you say.....Is it left, right or in the middle???

And no "RO's Menu" neither Kida....

Lost....need a GPS mapping I think...[:o)]

And BTW, I'm logged in as Nouchka it says and 'LOGOUT' appears right of my nickname...

That's what I see :

You have a different screen than I do....We need some puter wizards help on this one..Les?...

www.boated.com = low bandwidth or modem version
www.boatered.com = all the bells and whistles.

I knew there was a reason I liked you Wayne...

I did but it was ticking and smelled of fertilizer so I'm dunking it in the river till the ticking stops. :)

Wayne I had forgotten all about that! I guess I lost because I never got it!

Seriously, I just assumed someone else got it.

I feel bad about this. I'm guessing you sent it to me and since I never received it I never said thanks.

Well on behalf of whomever wound up with the book, thank-you for your kindness and generosity.

The FBI probably has it. They'll send it along when they are done copying it.

Well, thank you Rommer. Eveything is OK now.

I didn't know about the 'low and high bandwith' of this site[:-boggled]...as always, we learn everyday !!!

Back on course, guys![:-jump2]

Funny thing happened to me once here on BE.. I happened to get on a post that was BE Subscribers Only one time only.. not quite sure how that ever happened without an anchor.. maybe it was a 'teaser' to get me to anchor up?? Just teasing Les...

I also didn't know there was a lower bandwidth option here.. so thanks for the additional info. Good catch Rommer..
