Hi - we currently have a 2-gal porta-potti with pumpout feature on our 26' cruiser. With 2 small kids it's not bg enough.
We looked into adding the vacu-flush, but it's too much money to drop into our boat.
My current plan is to replace the 2-gal with the same exact model with a 5-gal, helping a bit.
The SeaLand Traveler looks like a nicer unit, still self-contained (waste under the seat, but 9 gallons), but I'd have to run a water line to it.
Does anyone have this unit, or intalled a similar setup?
Thanks very much,

Keith

Hi Keith, while the Marine Traveler isn't real popular, it does have a good reputation in the industry, and is virtually trouble-free. Spare parts, when needed, are readily available through SeaLand dealers and distributors.

Hi Vic,
Thanks for the reply. Once the boat is out of storage, I'll have to check the existing fitting for the pumpout and see how much modifications they'll need to switch from the p-a-p to the Traveler. Then I'll see how handy I am running water off the sink to the head...
Thanks again,
Keith

I've had a Traveler for 10 years now in my 26' cruiser. It's simple, and works really well - porcelain bowl, not plastic. Had a porta-potty in my previous boat - the Traveler is a major upgrade.

Every so often I need to give it an especially thorough cleaning, and treat the big rubber "gasket" with silicone, to maintain the seal so water will stay in the bowl when not in use. Waxing the bowl every spring helps too.

I also have it. My boat 1988 34 Silverton came from factory with it. I just replaced it last year as the tank bottom cracked - 19 years, not bad. Me and the wife get about 3 weekends out of it before we need to emplty. The 9 gallons is small but it works for us. I also cruise every weekend and it takes nothing to pump out at the fuel dock
