We took a last trip 35 miles up the river to Shadows Marina, in Poughkeepsie.

That walkway is special isn't it? They can program the lights on the bridge to make waves of different colors moving across the bridge. I think they stopped that aspect because people were wrecking cars looking at it.
At this time of year I can see that spot being a pretty good hang because the traffic on the river is down.

The lights were changing colors Saturday night, it was great! It must get pretty rough in that marina in the summer when there is a lot of traffic on the river.

The dock system is amazing, no pilings are used to keep it together, it is anchored to 6000 lb cement blocks on the bottom of the river!

Dave would love it, we had 35' of water under our boat.

The last time we were at Shadows the food was good as well as the service. Hopefully that is still working.

Yes, food and service were excellent, not crazy about the room they put us in, it was lighted in purple and white neon lights! Next time, we'll be sure to get a table in the main dining room.

LOL I don't give that much thought these days! The first time I look at a tide chart this year was when I had to drop off the boat to be hauled.

Nice pictures! I wish I could have been there I planned the trip and you got to enjoy it:) At least someone got to go.
