2001 Mercruiser 350 Magnum, The dash battery gauge reads just over 13 at idle, however, anything above 1,000 RPMs shows 15.5 to 16 on the dash gauge. I'm going down this week with a multimeter, any suggestions on the best place to start? Thanks in advance.

Some engines have the Regulater in the back of the Alternator. Take the whole thing to a Autozone etc ahd have it checked.
Thank you all. Looks like it is the gauge. I was reading 14.1 at the back of the Alternator and almost 16 on the dash. I tried the same test on the Starboard engine and was getting 13.9 on the multi-meter and just under 14 on the dash. I may switch the gauges this weekend just to be sure. Thanks again for the responses.
