Hope I'm not breaking any rules with this.. If so please tell me and I will delete it.

Is the carver owners forum worth the 50.00 a year price? I like researching and reading up on carvers and my model especially. Worth the information they have?
 
I've been a Carver owner for 17 years now. Everything I have heard about the Carver Owners Group has been negative. Their forum is pretty much dead. A $50 T shirt is about all you get for the money. There is much more relevant information and activity in this Carver group than anywhere else that I have seen-and you can't beat the price.
 
the short answer is NO ! Don't waste your money as I did that site is dead, your 50 gets you a T-shirt and the owners some gas for their boat and that's about all,

Ask away for free here.....
 
This isn't the busiest forum in the world, but the Carver owners on here really know their boats and they've been incredibly helpful to me, and to each other. Last year I asked for some rough dimensions of the salon table from the 80's -- one of the members sent me a detailed engineering drawing with all dimensions, and multiple photos. I'm still working on copying the table (half done, winter project) but that was so helpful. This Boater Ed forum has been all the Carver's forum I've ever needed.
 
Thanks guys that's what I thought! This site is my go to however I was just curious if there was a more carver driven site. Not that I would ever leave this forum.
 
If you look at the stats for the brand forums...this IS a Carver driven site ;-)
 
I paid 50 bucks last year when I was looking at a carver. I did get a nice tee shirt. The forum sucks. I thought it would be like the silverton forum , which is a great forum, but it was not.
 
The Mainship Yahoo groups is free and a very worthwhile site if you own any Mainship new or old. When I 1st joined the group a dealer sent me an original owners manual for my boat free of charge. The groups getting older but still growing I have gotten free coffee mugs and T shirts that say Mainship Group when I have met other contributors. The various area groups have raftups and various get togethers throughout the year. Too bad Carver doesn't have the same kind of support.

Save your 50 bucks towards your anchor here. You will find more info here than you can imagine. I have had my boat for 12yrs. and have learned and shared a lot here.
 
Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just saw (from facebook) a new forum was started a few days ago. I googled it and found it on the second page. Try searching for carver yacht owners forum. I completely agree with the others too, the $50 for the owners club was close to a rip off for me.
 
I still do check that other forum (club) once in a great while, but I think this BoaterEd Carver forum is still the best. Still may not have the highest traffic in the world, but almost every discussion and post is interesting to me. Still the most helpful. I wouldn't mind $50 and I would gladly pay it, but I'm not inclined to pay $50 if I'm not allowed to see anything before I buy. I wouldn't buy a car or a boat sight unseen, and I'm not inclined to buy a forum membership that way either. I run a couple websites myself so I understand the time and overhead involved, but I just find that up front payment requirement mildly annoying.

I'm also a member of the Bayliners Owners Club (we still own a little Capri just for kicks) but that site is so noisy that I just can't keep up and it loses my interest. To me this one has real value, practical and otherwise, even if it is pretty quiet.
 
I just checked it out...It's a brand new site, I'm going to link it to the Carver FB page...But this is a darn good site for us...but more sites the better !
