Would anyone have a pallpark time of how long it would take to get from Oxbow to Discovery Bay - assuming a 25 mph cruising speed?

Probably about an hour. The gating time is the 5 mile zone to the Molk. and then the Highwy 12 bridge. Orwood bridge opens on demand. Maybe 10 minute wait for train.

It depends on your piloting habits.

I've made the trip from Disco to Moore's at least a few hundred times and it usually takes me about 60 to 75 minutes or so (in my various cruisers that I have had over the years). Plus, no matter what boat I am in, I always slow down for small fishing boats/swimmers, etc...

If the pic in your avatar is your primary boat, then you might be able to cut the time down some.

Figure your time from Oxbow to Moore's, then add about an hour and then figure another 10-15 minutes or so if you are going to the marina/DBYC. More, or less if you are heading to a private waterfront home (depending on where it is located).

I'm sure there will be propeller head responses from folks that will include GPS calculations, different routes and such, but my times are figured from real-life scenarios, which as anyone can tell you, you will never know what you might come up against while out on the river...

Have fun!

Yeh, my primary, and only boat, is the 21' Crownline cuddy. I'll be going on July 2nd so there may be some holiday traffic. Will allow 2 hours, door to door. I will be going to a home on the deep water, though not as of yet sure where it is.

Thanks for the help.

That could add as much another 20 minutes or more on to your commute time depending on how far away the home is from the fast water. Because it is a slow zone through the whole community.

If this is your first time there, make sure you find out where it is on the map because it's easy to get lost. There are many coves and many of the houses share the same basic design, so it can be hard to find your way around.

Good point, UpperDecker. Thanks. Have only been to the place once - via the asphault slough - as the late great Hal Schell would say. It's a party so have plenty of wiggle room as to when I get there.
