I'm about to replace the exhaust manifolds on my port engine. I replaced the elbows last year and just wiped down the bare metal with laquer thinner and painted with Crusader Blue paint. It seems to be holding up OK but was just wondering what other RO's do. Would an etching primer and then topcoat hold up even better in a saltwater environment? I seem to recall a recent thread where someone mentioned using a zinc chromate primer. Advice?
