Park around dutchess on the Hudson

I remember last year someone (I believe Pete) mentioned a park you could dock your boat and camp out at. We were looking to go up to lake George and get a camping site on an island but they are pretty much booked up. I was thinking about maybe combining a camping trip with a boating trip.

Anyone have a link to the park I'm thinking about?

Actually I believe you should be looking into Norrie Point, it is a state park above/north of Hyde Park.

Good link Chris, my apologies....when I read the link line I thought it was about Hyde Park Marina, which is about the last place I would send someone! But you nailed this one right on the head - great place to go last weekend in October, park your boat and check out a great car show at Mills Mansion :)
 
Norrie Point Marina is the place that I've talked about before - its a great day destination because they usually don't charge just to pull in for a couple of hours. Overnight stays are cheap, too. There are no real facilities except restrooms, but you can enjoy a great view while having your barbeque up on the hill, and nearby there are camping cabins available by reservation. We bring our bikes there and ride to Staatsburg, which boasts the Mills Mansion, a golf course, and a couple of eateries. Just don't go there on a Monday, because EVERYTHING is closed!!!
