Wouldn't a diversion of water from the Sacramento River to the Mokelumne actually have a positive impact on Delta water quality? It seems a lot more palatable than diverting it via canal directly to the pumps.

On a somewhat related topic, what's the status of restoring flow to the San Joaquin?
