Planning ahead - Hudson River trip

Hi guys,

I think it's been 3 years now since Tammie and I joined everyone for a raftup with the HRCC so I think we're due to come up again :) I was thinking mid-August but looks like I'll be doing a Montauk trip then so will do it a little later in the season. Do most of you usually stay local and raftup for Labor Day weekend or do you normally use the holiday weekend for longer trips and won't be around? I'm planning to spend some time at Liberty Landing during the week and take the ferry to work, and then hopefully spend a weekend with everyone at Croton or Bowline. I'm thinking the 3 day Labor Day weekend would be a nice time to come up but if a lot of you will be away we'll do it before or after.

OK, sounds good, more than likely we'll plan for Labor Day weekend. When it gets closer I'll confirm. We'll spend the week before or after at Liberty Landing.

OK, have my Liberty Landing reservations confirmed for 8/28-9/4, planning to head up Saturday morning 9/4 to meet you guys for the long weekend. Mike, still planning to stay local Labor Day weekend? I wasn't sure on the other thread which weekend you were heading north.

I'm heading up the river this week. We are staying in Tarrytown Friday and Kingston Saturday. We have stayed at Catskill and Shady Harbor in the past but I'm looking for someplace new and as nice. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
 
We are staying at Rondout Yacht Basin, but it may be pretty crowded, we have 17 boats going up. Give them a call and see if you can get in, then stop over and say hello.
 
Hogan, thanks for the heads up. We ended up at the town dock for Saturday hopefully we will run into each other.

When are you heading up from Liberty?

We were thinking about it ourselves. Not that I'm superstitious but the last 2 years we planned ahead and had to cancel for weather so we are waiting to see how it goes.

We're planning to head up from Liberty sometime on Saturday morning, 9/4. That would be great if you could join us too.

Yeah, never know with the weather, last time I planned to do this trip a couple years ago I changed my Liberty Landing reservation twice before finally giving up and cancelling it. Hopefully this year we'll have some nice weather for the trip.

Barring work or weather issues Pat and I are in. As we get closer, just let me know about what time you want to go and we'll meet you outside Liberty. I'll talk to Pat and see if I can get a slip for Friday night.
 
Well that may have been the shortest boat plan I have ever had. It looks like I have a conflict.

Will let you know if it can be worked out or not.
 
Mike, will you have a grill on the boat? We caught tuna 2 out of the last 3 weekends, I'll bring some if you have a grill for me to cook it on.
