Point Lookout State Park?

I'm taking 10 days on the boat in August, planning to head south to the Tangier Sound area. I'm thinking of stopping for a night near Point Lookout at the mouth of the Potomac. I'd like to poke around the state park, but not clear whether there's any access by boat.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Could stay at Point Lookout Marina and bicycle over to the park, I guess, but was hoping for something closer to or in the park.

Point Lookout offers a small boat ramp and boat rentals. We once poked our way in and fortunately did not ground in Lake Conoy which is just off the Potomac River. You may be better off doing the bike tour as the water is shallow once into the entrance.
