Well for those who didnt get to see the run it wasnt as bad as last year. Not as many boats but we managed to get closer to them so we did get a few pictures...Will try to post them on my site but it may be a while....The old back has done it again and we are not as fast as usual....

I also got a lot of pictures as the turned around in Haverstaraw, I will try to select theought them tonight and upload a few.

Gorgeous weather for the race, many fewer boats racing, but a lot of fun, nonetheless!

Bowline was like glass Saturday night - except for the complete MORON who flew in on plane, passing another boat by the wall, then flying by our raft-up throwing a fairly big wake.

Butch, take care of that back!

I blew it this Saturday...soccer practice was canceled. I had the kids all suited up and went to the field and everything. After that, instead of boating, I helped a friend (now REAL GOOD friend) take down a tree in his yard. We did manage to get out there for some dinner at the slip with in-laws then we took a quick spin and went to the point to sleep. It was a beautiful night.

Let me ask you guys an etiquette question....is there an acceptable time to start your genset in the morning? Wife wanted coffee but I as apprehensive of starting it before 9am. Then again, generators are a part of anchoring out, aren't they. I'm sure it's something people have learned to accept.

It's not the quietest genset (kohler 7.5). I really have to borrow some of you professional rafters' ears so I can get a feel if the generator is too loud. It's probably fine just alot more than my honda 2000. I'd say it's tad louder than a 5.7 Crusader though.

Chris,

Unless you are real close to the boat anchored next to you the noise shouldn't be a problem at all. I run my genset all night long and it's not loud enough to bother anyone unless you are in my engine room.'

Don't sweat it.

Jonathan

Chris,
when the admiral wants coffee, she gets it no matter what time it is! Otherwise it would be the last over nighter! We all understand....

LOL, true Butch, very true. I guess I worry too much. Memorial day weekend, we were rafted with friends and they didn't wake up until 8:30 (empty nesters). The previous evening, the generator took a dive (simple fix, impeller) so we wanted to get back to the slip to make breakfast, charge the batteries and start the day. Stupid me waited until they woke up before we took off as I didn't want to be rude.

I guess I need to be a bit more concerned for the admiral...if she ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!

Hey Pete, I see you got a nice shot of our F-4. All the other contestants were pretty impressive too!!!
