Way back in the early 60's we were stationed at Hurlburt Field AFB, Ft. Walton Beach FL. This was back in the days when Destin, FL. was a very small fishing village. Anyway, each spring when the pompano run started we would head over to the surf and sight cast small pompano jigs as the fish worked they way along the surf line. Of course this was on those days when wave action allowed us to see in the crystal clear water. Now days all my Pompano fishing is done using bait like sand fleas, shrimp, fish bites, fish gum, on 2 or 3 hook dropper rigs with a pyramid sinker heavy enough to anchor the bait in place with the current and wave action. While this fun catching, works well, it is not the same as using a artificial and sight casting. This was a long winded post wondering if anyone reading this still sight cast to pomp's?
