We saw three porpoises in the Choptank R. Just West of the Route 50 bridge. We were coming home, Monday at 6:00 pm, from a stay at the Hyatt.

I noticed 3 fins in the water, and it seemed like porpoises I have seen in the Atlantic in Ocean City, MD. The fins were dead ahead of me. So I cut the engines and floated and scanned the water for more. Sure enough, we watched them as they surfaced for air nearly a dozen times. We got one view of them, where I saw two of the three's eyes. Definitely porpoises (or dolphins). I've never seen this before. Anybody else see them in Bay (this far North)?

Every now and then we'll see them up in the Potomac and along a back creek in Colonial Beach, in small pods. 38 miles up from the Bay!

Very cool indeed...

Thirteen years ago we saw dolphins in the Miles River, south of St.Michaels.

We have seen at least a dozen at a time in the Yeocomico off the lower Potomac. Love the way they will run along side the boat, and also cross in front of the bow. I believe they are dolphins.

Back in 1998 we saw 2 fins back in Fairlee Creek near Great Oak Landing Marina.
