Ports to see in northern NJ

WE spent the last couple of decades cruising the Long Island sound from NYC to Newport, Martha's Vineyard to the south shore. Been up the Hudson to Catskill

We moved the boat to a new marina 1 hour closer west and now are thinking about cruising south to places on the northern Jersey shore, but I don't have a clue of interesting places to go.
