Anyone getting a bit nervous about the weather for the weekend? NWS is saying this tropical depression may be a hurricane and wont be too far off the coast by sat. I guess time will tell.

Rough surf advisory & rip currents through Friday, Saturday will be nice. It is predicted to pass to the east of LI.

4- 6 for my early exit Thursday .... NOT HAPPY

Leaving tomorrow for greenport.
Should be okay.
Trip to montauk from there may be touchy.
Gonna need a bigger boat!

I cant believe we are looking at a topical storm and maybe a hurricane on 4th of July weekend. I would be pissed if I was vacationing on the outer banks.

I was planning to run the boat to Montauk Saturday, we'll see if it calms down in time. If the forecast stays as is might have to wait till Sunday but it's only Tuesday, we'll see how many times it changes!

Saturday is forecast to be beautiful. Sunny, dry and light SW winds. Friday is supposed to be the wet day but not as windy as you'd expect. Strong rip currents on ocean facing beaches due to increased wave heights so be careful.

This is the Coastal Sandy Hook to FI inlet:

SAT
N WINDS 15 TO 20 KT...BECOMING NW AROUND 10 KT IN THE
AFTERNOON...THEN BECOMING W. SEAS 4 TO 6 FT...SUBSIDING TO 2 TO
4 FT AFTER MIDNIGHT.

SUN
W WINDS 5 TO 10 KT...BECOMING SW 10 TO 15 KT. SEAS 2 TO 4 FT.

maybe Friday is not looking so bad. Rain or scattered showers is better than wind. That NW wind can kick up peconic bay pretty quick. We will see
