Preparations have commenced

I am so if anyone is around, stop up and watch me. I expect the boat ready for splashing by Sunday. Actual date will be 3/31. I know Hogan is planning on taking his cover off this weekend so I'll assume the weather wont allow it any earlier.

You watch. You guys are going to cause this march to be the snowiest and coldest on record by prepping your boats this early.

As it should be. It's tough to throw out an acnhor and wait for Air Tow to pick you up when your plane breaks down

I missed this post, LOL

Pocketchange Anchor Management in indoors so the early prep is a none issue. I'm a bit jealous but I will wait another week before I cut my top. I may do a little bottom prep to make ready for paint but there is not much else I can do. I can't wait to get into my new slip and see 10+ feet under my boat at low tide:)

This weekend's weather is not looking condusive to uncovering the boat.

March 5 last year. Never later than mid-March.

You are 3 weeks too early.........

Party pooper! I usually uncover mid March giving me about 30 days to complete prep for launch. This should be an easy year no major plans just touch up bottom, buff and polish entire boat and change zincs.

I'm hoping that I can pull not this weekend but maybe the next if I have to wait yet another it wont be the end of the world.

This weekend is too busy, but next weekend looks like the start of the prep season for me. Only a couple of projects this year so it should be pretty easy.

I just noticed this, is this still your plan? If so I will see you there.

I must be ready to go in. Spent today cleaning the fenders and power cords with acetone.

I'm almost ready I just need a couple more days I hope to get in by the end of next week. I will finish polishing tomorrow and I hope to bottom paint Thursday or Friday. A couple of small things to take care of and then it's launch time:)

Dave, will Haverstraw let you into your slip this early in the season?

I have been told yes but I will double check if not I will just have to live on board and anchor out. We are only talking about two weeks early and I pay my own electric so it should not be deal but you never know.

I suspect that date is when they start putting boats in the water but since you are elsewhere, I don't see why they would not allow you in the marina early. They do have a lot of boats in all winter.

I was there two weeks ago and they had already started launching boat(s). I thought it was a bit early but it was someone who was anxious to go fishing.

When I was there years ago, they did not want anyone to use the boats before April 15th. They did want to charge me a daily charge if I went in early.

I was there for 10 years, just left 3 years ago. Always went in before April 15th. Never had a problem, never got charged anything extra. Maybe it has changed now, don't know.

Killed 3 spiders on the boat already and it's not even in the water yet. Aaarrrggg.
