This is not my boat, this is not my sale listing, I have no idea who the owner might be, not pushing the sale at all, different part of the country from me, this boat may not even still be for sale and it's an ancient listing (although the website shows the last update as of Nov 9), disclaimer disclaimer -- but I'm just amazed at the condition of this boat. We work like crazy on our 3207 and it doesn't look anywhere near this good. Bright shiny teak with a soft glow, shiny sinks, look at the bathroom, the stove. Even the glass on the gauges on the upper helm looks clean and clear. All the curtains and the upholstered rails in the V-berth match the bed covers. How does somebody keep a boat in this condition? (I do see that the aluminum dash plates on the upper helm could stand to be replaced, just like so many others.) Still, if those are indeed recent photos I have serious boat maintenance envy. Those photos must have been taken in 1986. How in the world does somebody keep a nearly 30-year old boat looking that clean?

(Aside from the sales listing too, some of those photos are interesting -- I see they have a small secondary strainer on the genset cooling water intake, maybe I should do that. And sound shield insulation on the underside of the engine hatches, ours are just carpet and plywood. Oh great, more items for the to-do list.)

I too feel as if I spend more time cleaning my boat than I do using it sometimes. I am no expert with the wheel by anymeans, but my hull sides are almost there after 2 years of heavy cutting, leveling, and polishing. I am planning to wet sand the whole boat from the rub rail up this spring. I have restriped the hullsides and this was a major improvement. I also polish all of the stainless twice a summer as well as include washing the bow rails every weekend. I literally wash the boat every morning I of the weekend and twice a week after work. It NEVER looks good enogh for me. It really drives me nuts! So all in all, yes, I too am amazed when I see these older boats in such phenominal condition!

That boat is beautiful. It's a shame it's not our favorite style. Great boat and great price.

I have seen the boat up close and personal. Every time I go to Chicago I end up on that dock with my boat and the owner is a few slips over. We always end up talking boats since him and his buddies are all Carver guys too.

The boat really is nice, and he is a very nice guy. The gel coat still has a great shine, I think the boat had to be in an undercover slip for most of its life, they are few and far between these days but there are some nice original boats left!
