I am looking for a prop shop on the mid to upper bay. Looking for recommendations and such so I can get my wheels checked out and tuned up.

I did post this in the Chesapeake and Delaware Bay forum, right????

Yipes C., yes you did. And that's why I deleted it. I have heard some good things about Black's in Stevensville, MD. All 2cd hand.

I had my props done by Atlantic Propeller in New Jersey somewhere (I'm thinking Cherry Hill). They are a prop scan shop. This was a few years ago but I'm sure he's still in business. I have the papers on the boat and can give specifics if needed. He even loaned prop pullers then and did pick ups at Duffy's as he had a boat somewhere down there. Black Dog (what it used to be called) is in Stevensville and uses the same prop scan. However Atlantic was less $ at the time (I think he was just starting out) and chose to go there as he was really informative on the phone.
Next time we pull, they are going back to Atlantic.
Let me know if you want the specifics of Atlantic as we are on the Sassafras also.
Luck

2nd Atlantic "Atlantis" Propeller, MT. Laurel NJ. They do a nice job, paid 400 for tune up on a set of 18x20.

3rd vote for Atlantis in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Tom, the owner, is a super guy. They are a PropScan shop. BTW, you can borrow a prop puller from Duffy's and leave your props there for Atlantis to pick-up. They'll call you with the results of theie analysis and the cost to tune before they do anything. Tom will want to know your boat, tranny, RPMs at WOT to make sure he gets them perfect. After they are done they'll deliver them back to Duffy's for you.

Atlantis in Mt Laurel IS the place I went. it's been a few years plus it's Monday........ I drove the props to the shop and picked up vs. having them delivered as I like face to face dealings. He scanned the props while I waited and gave me all the info then and there.
Thx

Black Dog Propellors in Stevensville. Had mine done there last year. Scanned and tuned for $269. I had a Michigan wheel with no dings, made a tremendous difference after tuning.

I second Black Dog Propellors in Stevensville. They are a Prop Scan shop. I have used they a few times now and have received nothing but great service and a well tuned prop!

Thanks for the advice guys. Black Dog is closer for me. I like dealing face to face too.
I need to find a puller.

Another vote for Black Dog... they have done a couple of sets for me.

I used WildCats in the Hampton, VA area. Shipped our props to them for $7, tuned and returned to me for $7. The boat has never run so smoorth and hit WOT easily for the 1st time. $150 a prop, Nibral 4 bladed 17" X 16" cupped. I was impressed and will use them again.

Sorry, $150 a wheel, $7 to mail each way. Had them back in under 2 weeks. Purchased a prop puller and pulled them myself.

I believe Tom sold Atlantic Propeller last spring. They also no longer pick up props at Duffy's (at least last season they did not). Had mine done by someone in Rock Hall (name escapes me) and they were about $150 per prop more than I previously paid at Atlantic.

Wow, if Tom sold then I'd have to take back my endorsement until I had soem real experience with the new guy. The drop-off and pick-ups were a great advantage as well. Too bad.

I've used DIGITAL PROP SHOP rb2@gr5t Herrington Harbor North several times with good service & results. He is also a Prop Scan shop. 800-804-7757
