2 years ago I had to replace my Shurflo water pump. It had lasted 20 years, a pretty good run. I opened it up and found that water had leaked past the seals into the motor and it was badly rusted. So I replaced it with another Shurflo, hoping to get another 20 years out of it. Instead, it's gone bad and has the same problem. The motor is all rusted up inside. I was out river camping last weekend and so spent about an hour tearing it down and at least getting it to function for a few days. But I'm wondering if I just had bad luck, or if "they don't make em like they used to" or if there's some backpressure problem I experience when using the city system at the dock. Any thoughts?
