I am thinking of replacing my holding tank with a Purasan system. I did upgrade to the Elegance head a few years ago. I feel the holding tank and hoses need replaced so it makes the decision easier. I have read Peggy's book, increased the vent size and use odorless and am still tired of odors. I do feel we get more odors coming thru the head discharge then we did with the previous crown head. I did replace the discharge hoses probably 6-8 years ago so I'm sure they are due. Anyone have thoughts on the Purasan?

I have a Purasan (and a Marine Elegance Head). I kept my holding tank though. I like having Type I and a Type III systems. There's only 2 NDZs in Maryland, and we avoid those easily, but sometimes we're in the FL Keys which are all NDZ so having the Type III comes in handy. But I can't say enough good things about a Purasan. Even though you may be in salt water, I'd still opt for the Purasan over the Electro Scan to save the amps and to not have to deal with the treatment plates (they need cleaning every so often and foul easily). Perhaps go with the pre-configured Hold n' Treat system instead of totally getting rid of your Type III tank?

I'm sure Danny (BarrenRiver) will have some input as he is a Raritan dealer and knows these systems well.

I agree with Kurt keep the holding tank and use the tank to feed the PuraSan you really can make your own version of the H-N-T control system.
I'll be installing a new holding tanks and a SeaLand transfer pump to feed the PuraSan from the holding tank on my GS.
