Raft up ends badly.

I read about that. Sad, very, very sad! A group of young kids having fun on lake Mahopac. It reminds me of the death of a swimmer at Croton Point a couple of years back. We were there but did not notice the commotion until the cops fished the body out of the river. Young kid, went for "one last swim", dove in but the tide had shifted and what was once 7 feet was only say 2 feet deep.

Be careful folks! I had a reminder this weekend when I sat then dropped myself in the water from a friend's boat. Being away from outdrives, you guessed it, I hit the top and now have a large, ugly bruise on my thigh....glad it wasn't worse or one of the kids!!!

My thoughts and prayers to all the kids involved in this tragedy.

Mean depth of lake at its worst spot was 65ft. Average depth 33 ft.

Lake = no tide, currents etc. Wind yes, my point is that if you threw out an 150ft line with a anchor on it ....at some point it would hook up waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before the boats would get near land.

Floating around tided up is for people on floats, not boats.
