As we were headed out to fish Wednesday morning we came across several pods of dolphins just outside of Atlantic Highlands.

Steven must have been exhausted after fighting that monster doormat!

Impressive docking skills Butch!

Must have been a real nail-biter. :)

Actually the 1st day with 20 knot cross winds and a thunderstorm made it interesting, try to back down the center without hitting a piling.

Shouldn't this be moved to the NJ forum???

Nice fish, any keepers?

You have to go out a bit to get some size lately, inshore are shorts.

The dolphins were cool.... Hope your fishing luck gets better, and glad you are having a nice trip!!!

We ended up with 4 or 5 keepers after 3 days of fishing. Lots of just short...Also saw what apears to be sturgeon jumping in the bay as well. ALl our good spots turneds out to be duds, The TC bouy was a big flop, that is usually one of our best areas. We spent alot of time in the sandy hook channel. We also did a few drifts down by the coast guard station. Bunker jumping all over. We did hook something right after one of the bunker schools and ended up snapping the rod. Not sure what it was but it was BIG....

Butch,
We missed them. We left on the 6th of July. Glad to hear you had a good time.

So how many dinners did you get out of that big boy Steven is holding?! I cannot believe the rod didn't break on that one.

One fish feed all Bob....

I must say Steven really showed his skills in landing the fish...
