The wife and I will be at the Brampton B and B in Chestertown for a wedding next weekend (6/12). We are boatless right now, so we will be traveling by car. I am looking for any recommendations from people with local knowledge about some nice things to do while in such a nice area that we are not familiar with. We are considering visiting Annapolis Friday, and then heading back towards Chestertown Friday night. We both enjoy anything boating related, and of course, she enjoys shopping when possible. Is there anything going on in the area that we should check out during our free time on Friday and Sunday? We are from Montgomery County, PA, so we will be traveling from that direction. Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Joe,
As you may recall, we currently live in Bucks County and have a home on Still Pond Creek just outside of Chestertown. The only events that weekend are the Farmers'/Artists' Market in Fountain Park (center of town) on Saturday morning and a Fish Fry sponsored by the Kent County Democratic Party of Saturday afternoon. If you have time in the morning before your wedding I would suggest visiting the Farmers' market. Its interesting in the variety of fresh foods and crafts/arts offerings. Beyond that, just walking around town and visiting the shops makes for a nice Sunday. I'm not certain if we will be there next weekend or not (likely will) but if we are we'd be happy to have you stop by and if the weather and our boat are agreeable we can give you a tour of Still Pond by boat.

There is outlet shopping mall on 50/301 just past Kent Narrows, where 50 and 301 meet. You will be taking 301 to Chestertown from Annapolis and it will be on your right just after the split. At Kent Narrows, exit 41 and 42 on 50, there are a lot of eating establisments, great crabs, etc...Red Eye Dock bar has outdoor seating right on the Narrows so lots of boating activity there. New resturant/bar called Bridges also has outdoor seating on other side of Kent Narrows Bridge (2 mins from Red Eye's). Also on same side, place called Big Owl's is a bar right on the dock on the Narrows on same side as Bridges. You can eat, drink and shop until you drop! Have fun. Annapolis is a great place. Try Pussers at City dock and there signature pain killlers. Ask for level 4. ENJOY!

Oh, you're so bad![}:)]

BTW, We don't enjoy the Queenstown Outlets as much since they went all "high end" stores.

Sorry for the delayed reply Mike and Brad, and thank you both for the info. Mike, I appreciate the offer very much. That's very nice of you. We will have to see how the weekend looks as time gets closer, but it sounds like something we would enjoy (who wouldn't!). I remember seeing pics of your house, which looks beautiful. Brad, thanks for the tips on the outlets and bars. My wife now says she doesn't want to waste time shopping, since she can do that at home. We have been to Pussers once before, but didn't get the level 4 that time! Perhaps this time.
