Regal Group - When's your haulout date??

Joe,
Haven't decided yet. I would like to see November-we'll see. We winterize everything ourselves and tarp the boat inside our barn for the winter. I didn't heat the barn last year but I'm thinking about it for this year. After the weather we had this weekend it is hard to think about the season coming to an end!

Hi Chris,

Yes, it was a beautiful weekend here wasn't it? My brother Chris called and finally came over to CP to see us today with his boat..

We popped over to PIB for a nice lunch at the Crews Nest..

He's moving out to Vegas in February, so today may have been the last time out on this one for a while.. we run her upto around 82mph or so on the way over and dusted a Fountain on the way back between PIB and Kelly’s... it was kind of fun for a change of pace..

I know it's not a Regal, but our Regal is at least in the pic.. :)

Hey Dog House Kid.. :)

Yea, it seems to look that way egh??? The only thing I can say is that Red Dog is NOT a Dog...
The only thing missing is the wings..
It's a wicked beast... but it sure was fun at the helm.. :) I told him, the power is incredible.. it's like driving a high performance sports car.. it puts you back in that bolster just the same. I'm not sure if Linda liked it much, but Tom had a smile ear to ear...

We are thinking of leaving our boat in the water this year. I was told that all I have to do is empty out the house water system and put in RV type antifreeze. I would kind of like it at home in the driveway but the cost of having it moved, and the amount of space it takes up, it might just be easier to leave it in the slip.
Have any of you had problems leaving your boat moored all winter? I am a little concerned with the snow load and wind !!!

Hi Gunnar,

I had a friend out in Portland who kept his sailboat in the water year round.. I got the impression that you don't get that much snow up that way..

There are many here that do keep their boat in water year round, so I'm sure you'll get lot's of tips/advise. Greg S, up that way has a Regal and at least one other boat.. I'm thinking he keeps his in water too.. maybe one or two of the engine room heaters would help keep the chill off.. as long as the water don't freeze around the boat, I'd think you'd be okay with it in water.

DogDaze,

SOrry for the delay....There are 2 underground storage areas close to us: US Storage in Butler PA and Brady's Bend Underground Storage, located in East Brady, PA - Where we will store our boat this year. They have a web site: bradysbend.com
