who parked his boat with 4 feet of it over my property line and then refused to move it and accused me of being a jerk? Now his 50 foot Berty has an American flag hanging up-side-down on one of his outriggers. WTF? You really wonder if he does these things on purpose to annoy the world. Let's all pray this rb2@gr5tzz sells his house soon.

He"s probably just doing it to piss you off...........(and it looks like it"s working)

wish there was a law being broken so I could piss him off a bit - is there?

Is he still overhanging your property? The flag thing is indefensible but alas not illegal.

an flag displayed upside down is a distress signal, isnt' it ? are you allowed to display a distress signal on a boat without being in distress ?

dont 'know if the USCG or marine patrol will care to check into it but maybe worth a call... hey, mabe someone is being held on board against their will :-)

maybe making some noise about it... local paper, any group that defends the flag may do the trick

Good point Pascal!

"Hello Coast Guard, not sure if there is a problem or not but there is a boat flying a flag upside near my position. You may want to check it out."

I think he's just being a jerk to irritate footloose. Where do these people come from? His personal life must be severely lacking.

Maybe you set up a bird feeder about 3 feet from your property line. Get a bag of wild bird seed from your local pet store and put some out. Tommorrow there will be birds waiting for you to feed them. My wife has a feeder and the birds are waiting on the fence everyday for her to feed them. She has it up closer to the house but I think yours would look better close to the seawall. His boat will look nicer in a few weeks.

seahawk, I like the way you think.[:-bulb]

Got gulls or better yet cormorants around? Toss a few sardines or smelts on the top of his bimini. I guarantee it'll look like your average buoy after a few days!! *evil grin*

I once had a crabby neighbor who hated cats. She'd chase them away with a broom. She was especially mean to our cat, who was put out only on a tether so she wouldn't wander into this neighbors yard. One day I caught her kicking my cat who was on my front lawn. Well, at any given time there's a half dozen strays who wander around our neighborhood. When she was away one day I put two partly opened cans of sardines under her porch! You can guess the rest! I am evil! *lol*

Remember, we can't control the actions/behaviors of others; but we can control our response to them. Choose to not let it bother you. Anger is wasted energy which can bring negativity into your life. Let your neighbor have that negativity and suffer the consequences while you go on about your happy life appreciating all that is wonderful. The Gods will reward you!

I love the bird thing but birds aren't too particular WHOSE boat they decorate. They might nail YOUR boat as well.

You could take a picture of the flag and send it to the media. If it's a slow day they're liable to give him more attention than he wants.

Now that would be illegal. Vandalism.

Just follow Flutterby's advise. Smile and say hello when you see your neighbor. Otherwise ignore him/her.

If he is parked on your property, that would be trespassing.....you could call the local PO-PO to ask him ot remove it.

Was the boat parked 4 feet over the propertly line on your grass or on the street?

Liz...always the voice of temperance and reason. And God love you for it -

HOWEVER

I think in this case, Foot has the right to pull something preposterous and totally uncalled for against this pest.

I really liked Rick's sardines up top idea...

;)

stephen, the boat is docked on teh canal, but extends 4' over the property line in front of olivier's dock

I agree. Do nothing. That always works.

If his boat is extending 4 ft onto your property line, I would report it (not sure who you'd report that to.........police, town?). Does he have room to move it back more on his own property? If not, and you report it, he might just have to get rid of his boat! Otherwise...............I really like the sardine idea! :)

the dweeb moved his boat forward and off my property however - it is right at the property line which is not done in this area - except by him. Flag is still upside down...what a turd. House has been for sale for 2 years - cross fingers someone bites soon
