Reserve your slip for next season?

I'd guess it's because SPBM likes to pad the mechanics bills. Or mabie because they take much longer than any other place to actually do the work. Or could it be that when they do cause damage they won't take care of repairing it.

Eddie sure does good work but after he's done the office gets involved.

I have to laugh when I see comments like, "you just have to deal somtimes". No you don't, you pay good money and there ARE choices. The way I see it is you can bitch, complain and continue to put up with a bad situation or vote with your wallet and move on. From what I can see more and more are choosing to move on.

Take a look at the 2 marinas, one has a mostly empty yard while the other is full for the winter. It's amazing how many SPBM boats are wintering next door this year? I wonder why that is?

BTW - anyone else notice how the boats are arranged in a big square with a nice empty field in the middle this year? I suppose it could be that the marina wanted a place for the employees to play football but i'm guessing it might just be so things don't look as bad as it really is. Then what do I know about running a marina.

Cheri was there when I dropped my boat off in October. She is nice too. And Eddie is very competant.

Rommer, the parking is the biggest draw back. You're right. You get free parking for one car and additional cars have to pay the garage max if $10 / day. That fact keeps a lot of people away. That's the problem with a marina in the city. The location is great and the view, especially at night, is spectacular. It's close to where I live and work.

It's under new management as of October. They are planning improvements. They actually dropped the prices which I couldn't believe. It's only $85 / ft based on slip length. Smaller slips further out are even less. Last year it was $115. Liberty Landing is $152 I think.

Who is SummerBreeze? does anyone know?
Seems he/she has a lot of info and or a lot to say, but who are they ? are they from SPBM or another location.

Just wondering

Such as charging for LOA and measuring every boat it's making me think twice about the swim platform I want to add.

So does that mean you and Starry Night are going to be hit with a bill for 49 feet next year?

I know Haverstraw has always done the LOA thing and have seen them out there with a tape measure.

I wish, but if he continues I might send him for a swim.

why do I get the feeling that G dock will be empty next year.

Who left "G" dock?

From a summer standpoint, nobody that I know of. From a winter standpoint there is an interesting list!

I am thinking I should have went where I went last year for the winter. I am now buried against the fence and was told I would not be buried. We'll see when March comes around if they move the boat(s) behind me to get me in the water but I am planning on not holding my breath.

It's Cheri... they've been trying to find a replacement for her so that she can have more days off (seems like she's there all the time), she was just there when I got pulled on Nov 16.

Summerbreez, when I made the comment about "sometimes you just have to deal" what I ment is that nothing is perfect in this world and if your not happy with the service like repair take your boat somewhere else, no one can force you to use their repair shop, its your boat. I believe every marina has issues, if that was not true we would not have people comming back that left to go somewhere else.

No idea! Are they members in our marina and if so if the marina is not working out, just relocate.

I am so happy my boat fit into PennyBridge!!

How tight is it when you make the turn into your slip? Can't be oodles of space when you turn.

Do you have a bowthruster?

I have 15' in front of me.

Real boaters don't need bow thrusters!

How come when we ask who Summerbreeze is, or where they are from, there seems to be no other posts from them. I don't think there from SPBM.

I didn't know it was required to use a full name, anyway as a long time Willow Cove member I choose to remain anonymous.

That said what have I said that isn't true or is it that the truth hits too close to home?

I didn't ask if you were a real boater, just wondering if the boat had one!

15' is pretty good space.
