Had a look at a Vacuflush head on a neighbour's boat at the week-end and was very impressed.

I'd like to investigate replacing my troublesome Jabsco Electric head with a Vacuflush.

A couple of questions come to mind;

1/ My 120 Ltr holding tank is new. Can I use the existing holding tank ?

2/ Do you need special waste lines in the Vacflush to handle suction ?

3/ I have a diaphragm pump to empty the holding tank now, so I guess I'd need a Macerator ?

Thanks,

I replaced my Jabsco manual head with a Vacuflush last season. Works great. I rerouted the existing waste line to go to the Vacuflush tank and installed a new waste line (same type, nothing special) to go from the Vacuflush tank to the holding tank. Used the existing holding tank and no special waste lines. The only other modification was to disconnect the raw water inlet and obtain fresh water from my fresh water tank by tee'ing off of the pressurized side of the fresh water system. I don't use a diaphragm pump to empty the holding tank, so I cannot comment on the need for a macerator.

Wayne, I've had VF heads for years now and love them ! well as much as you can "love" an MSD that is...

tank, hose, macerator/discharge pump dont' need to be changed... just the head, hook up fresh water and install the vac generator following sealand guidelines for line lengths. they have different models, either with the vac pump mounted on the vac tank or with separate tank and pump (which I have)
