RIP CurrentSea - good times and bad

OMG, sorry for your loss, was a beutiful boat.....

Dave, so sorry, but at least no one was hurt.

You will have a fun adventure over the winter looking for a new boat. And this time no loose nuts... LOL.... had to say that.

Good luck.

Brad

It really is heartbreaking to see. All the more illustrated with the before pictures of what she represented to you and your family.

Got inside boat yesterday at low tide. Was very hard to walk as its slippery and on a angle.
Did manage to grab a few items that meant something that were dry.
Interesting that the chairs floated and on 1 chair was gizmo's toy and a remote for satellite
So I grabbed them.
Gizmo was pissed as he ripped it apart.
I think he knows something is up.

Being inside boat was heartbreaking. Just seeing it from all angles is tough.

So sorry for your loss. I was worried about The Dog House as well. Although we didn't get near the storm you got, it was quite scary for us with seas up to 22 foot on Lake Erie. Luckily our marina (where I work) is mostly shielded from the lake on a river which overflowed it's banks, but the boats still in the water were tied to ride the surge out. The Dog House is for sale, but I don't want to see her go in that way. Again...so sorry!!!

Heartbreaking to say the least. Even though we all say "its only a boat", the emotional strain is unbearable at times.
Lindenhurst got hammered, I have some friends that live on the canal, they have two 38 foot boats on their lawns...........

Sorry for your loss. There never just a boat, We sold our favorite boat several years back to Cool Runnin on this forum and as we were watching the news from up there online we seen our old boat (damaged). It brought tears to my eyes to see it like that. Losing a beloved boat is like loosing a family member.

My boat is kind of like my wife. It can be frustrating, a PIA at times, and I often curse it, but I would be really upset if something happened to it.
I could only imagine how you must feel after losing a beauty like that.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. My boat floated away Monday night with no plugs. My family went to bed grieving for her. She was found Tuesday in relatively good shape and is back home now.
It's not "just a boat". I can't pinpoint it but our boats are something almost spiritual. We trust them to keep our families safe in bad weather, we have many great memories and learning experiences with the kids, it's our second home, etc.

Non-boaters may not understand. But they probably don't understand why we spend so much money boating. Lets face it, financially, it makes no sense. And I get the feeling most boaters are pretty frugal with the rest of their money, I know I am.

It's a passion, not a hobby.

Best of luck moving on.

Wow, what a beautiful boat. So sad. Our heart goes out to you.

BTW, where is ITK and his asinine comments now?

Unreal, really unreal. I'm sure you're sick. Been over 2 years since our boat was totaled and still miss it and have nightmares. Really sorry to hear.

What a horrible thing to see.
BTW did I see a perfectly good lime in the trash? You may need it, I think I would be drinking heavily if that was my boat!

I wouldn't be that they total it. If the motors are treated right, they will be fine, I don't see a lot of damage.

Motors were underwater for a week. Wood cabinetry is all destroyed. Boat is a total loss. Salvage guy will make the difference up.
All mechanicals were under water. Once boat gets wet it's done.

Mechanicals I think would be ok if pickled. I think it's totaled because of electrical, electronics, interior and mold milde issues. Need to replace anything with wire or electronics, all soft goos and cabinets. Talking about yanking off the fly bridge, splitting the hull / desk joint, yanking out the liner, then the real work straits. Insurance company' will cut it up and dumpster it. Sad.

I tell you boat was in water for a week and the rust is amazing. Anything not stainless and even some hints that are, are all rusted.

Nothing has been pickled. Marina does not have manpower to do all the work they have.
In my view I'd they want o save this boat, they would need to ship it to regal for a complete rebuild.
Can't trust some local with redoing all the wires.

My current boat went back to the factory in 2005 for a stringer and liner lack of adhesion issue. They didn't make my boat anymore, and offered me one size smaller of a different brand. I asked for one size larger and offered to pay the difference We could not ome to terms on a new boat, so they fixed mine. Completely dissembly, took months, fixed all the problems and today it is still better than new. The labor and glass work alone 7 years ago was $45,000, and they reinstalled all the same components. I bet the cost for Regal to do the same for your boat and replace the components would equal it's wholesale cot.

If I felt comfortable that boat would come back better than before with everything new then I would do it.
I have faith that regal could do it. After all they would I assume reissue a warranty on iit.
It would have to be gutted. Plus add in transport costs to and from Florida.
