Still looking for a hardtop for my 1986 Riviera.
Have checked out a number of salvage yards without success as well as online postings over the past few years.
If anyone happens to know of availability, will very much appreciate.

I wonder if there is any chance that, with the boat long out of production, Carver might let you get a set of plans for one? Years ago, when Carver was still independent, I got drawings and stuff from a guy who worked at the plant (just by calling them up, imagine that!) in order to take the cabin off of the deck on my old 2895. My guess is they wont do it for you now, but one never knows. Perhaps a dealer with good connections can help you find the right person to make the request...

I doubt they have much else to do at the plant these days. Maybe while they are looking for the plans they can rethink their decision to get out of the under 35 market and remake some updated versions of these classics!

I had checked with Carver three years ago, but was told that the mold had been destroyed and that they had no info available.
I very much appreciate your suggestions. Will have to think about making one myself.

I have a feeling that most of the design drawings for the older boats have long met the trash barrel. When I was working for them we had to have a laser team come in to get reference points off the 500 hull for me to create lines for the 506 so we had an electronic file to work from. I remember looking for the older boat models being a boat nut and all, I couldn't even find the hull/deck lines or even the detail drawings for the interior components. It would be great to be able to purchase a set of drawings for our older model boats. I'd love to get my hands on the original 3807 drawings. I remember seeing the drawings back in the early 90's though at that time owning one was only a dream.

When I needed new gas tanks I called and asked if they had the old drawings and specs. They said most of it was thrown out when the moved a few years ago.

Sorry pics are bad but I'll get better ones off my phone..
Its fiberglass over wood with a wood interior..We were able to move the VHF and Stereo up above the helm.. We absolutely love it and it completely changed the look of the boat
