Has anyone used the marine basin over the last year just west of the RM bridge at the inlet? Was thinking of making a day trip tomorrow and did not want to worry about not getting a slip at the fire island towns plus not a Town of Babylon or Islip resident.

Been there. Usually empty.
No issues docking.
Nice place.

https://activecaptain.com/quickLists/marina.php?name=Robert_Moses_State_Park_Boat_Basin___Closed_Fire_Island_NY&i=4127741605 looks like a nice spot for a day trip. I was fishing in my little boat just east of the basin about a week ago and found myself in 3 feet of water. I would aproach from the NW. the website I attached says the basin is closed. There is a phone number, I would call ahead to check

Website is wrong!
I was there 2 weeks ago.
It's open and empty.
But please, don't go, it's my secret spot!
LOL!

I guess instead of the three of us, there will be four of us using the basin..ha!

2 is company, 3 is a crowd but 5 is PARTY. Look forward to seeing all out there.

I go every weekend. You can pay 65 bucks for the year pass. Its a sticker for your boat so no one bothers you when they go around to collect the 10 bucks.

I didn't know about that. But that means you have to go at least 7 times
I don't go that much.
I think there are 100 slips.
All are same size too I think. Which is big like 16'.

They are not dog friendly but I bring my dog and keep him near boat. I walk him down to beach on bay side.
They don't make a stink about it as long as he doesn't run lose or go to ocean.

Actually there are a lot of hogs and heffers on the beach there!
