Four boats yesterday up on the wall in Bowline last night for the fireworks that I saw..Not a record but a pretty pathetic sight. For those who don't know what this is, there is a very protected cove we often anchor in with about a 100 yard entrance. If you go down the middle you are in deep water right up to the point where you hit the underground rock wall that only breaches at dead low tide. It's very inviting as you see all these big boats inside rafted up and figure you are good to come on in. Yes, it is noted as an obstruction on the charts and no, there are no warning boueys. Never a weekend goes buy without someone winding up on it.

It helps keep the riff-raff out ! It's like being in a gate community.

I can't understand why you guys don't mark the wall.

I hear things were crazy at Croton Point Tuesday....glad I was tucked away in my slip by 2pm.

We have marked the wall in the past with fenders tied to cement blocks and they either move or are taken away. Quite frankly the town or some other authority should but nobody wants to take responsibility. There are multiple authorities in the immediate area on the water during the fireworks and even close the pond down when it gets too full. They call seatow to pull them off so this is a well known issue.
