I need some advise on installing a new diode board on my kohler 6.5cz generator. To get the old board out I had to unsolder the + and -connectors from the board. I was assuming I would just re-solder the connectors to the new board, but it appears that the new board has small round metal pieces that are threaded on the backside of the board. Can I simply solder the connectors to these round metal pieces or should I try and find a small screw/connector to fit in this hole and forego the solder?

I hope somebody with specific Kohler genset experience will drop by. Meanwhile, I'll ask:
Can you post pictures of the Old and New Boards? Also where it's installed?
I can only guess, but perhaps a manufacturer tried to do a solderless install on newer gensets than yours, hoping to make service in the field a little easier. That being the case, I think I'd try to install terminals and appropriate fasteners. Might also simplify warranty if the new part doesn't work.
I can think of two sites that might help.

Thanks. Currently awaiting a return call from TAW. I spoke to the parts department and they forwarded me to the parts manager. Currentyl have it installed with ring fasteners and terminal screws. The screws fit perfectly, but am thinking a little Loctite might be needed to keep them tight since it is spinning at a high rate of speed. I'll keep you posted.
