Vic,
I have 2 MK5 Rudder indicators that did not come with the back light option. What is the best way to add that. Thanks

First time I've heard of a head with a rudder. Does the tiller get in the way?

-edit-

In case you haven't noticed, these tounge-in-cheek comments are to indicate that this post would get a better response in a forum other than the sanitaion forum. Perhaps the "Ask the captain" or "Engines" foum would produce more and more useful results. ;)

Seeing as how Vic is the one who sells them I thought he would see it quicker in here...

There's no provision to backlight a MK5 Rudder Angle Indicator; only the MK2 and MK3 can be backlit. About all you can do is mount an external light on the dash to illuminate the meter, such as the Sea Dog utility light shown here, in left column:

Ah Ha!!! That 'spains it!!
For the longest time I was envisioning a guy sitting on his porta-potty located in the cockpit of his sailboat, one hand on the tiller and the other firmly grasping the toilet paper roll.

Bill, yes - and your point is...? If he's single-handing, where's there a problem? [:-jump] [:-jump2]

With one hand on the tiller, the other hand could be holding a boating magazine, many of which can also double as toilet paper - kind of double-duty (or is it double-doodie?). :)

But at any rate, Raritan's MK4, MK445, MK5 and MK6 Rudder Angle Indicators have no provisions for being lit at night. Only the MK2 and MK3 have that provision.

Thanks Vic, The guys were just trying to harass me. Little did they realize that Raritan is a multi-faceted supply company :) :) :)
