Just got back from driving up to Knights Landing, saw several boats 20 to 30 feet. Looks
like a real nice area for boating but the charts show several shoals between here and
there. Has anyone taken this in a 21 foot or larger boat?

Three years ago I made that very trip in November. Very cool cruise up that way but there is shallow water the further up you get. My boat is a 24 ft Bayliner Trophy and twice we ran aground but not serious enough to worry about. Once we got grounded on a gravel sand bar and actually got out of the boat to push us off. We stopped at Knights Landing and walked up a small hill to a bar that overlooked the river. The bar was, shall we say, "rustic" and was filled with some unusual folks, but they were nice and we had fun there. I say go for it and have fun.

There should be more water in the water this time of year. Last November would have been the lowest water of the season. Sounds like it is doable. Have fun!
