We have only gone to Sailors Haven on the off season early- mid June or mid-late September which has been wonderful and only a few boats on the weekdays. We are considering going this upcoming Monday. I will call ahead but what are the chances of a slip for a 11'6' beam ? There are only about 40. We could go to WH or Atlantique, which most likely will have slips. But Linda and I would like Sailors for a change.

I don't think you'll have a problem on a Monday.

Thanks Rob and John for the info, you most likely are right, but some years because of the limited # of slips, even week days during peak season I was told could be filled.

I will head east and if I can't get a decent slip or any, will head to WH. This is the first year in 11 boating seasons (2002) that we have not used our boat to the max and I mean almost every weekend rain or shine. The last trip was in May. So what would be an every weekend event seems like a real mini 3 day vacation.

I'm almost in shock at some of the prices they list for holiday weekends. Labor day there was 275/night with a three night minimum.

Is that typically the going rate on FI?

Kinda get burned when you're not a resident of Babylon.

Any other places us TOB people can stay out there?

I think you might be thinking of Seaview. Sailor's Haven is a National Park Service marina, doesn't matter where you're a resident of, it's always $2 a foot per night (or less with some off-season specials). Watch Hill also has the same rates.

John

I believe you are 100% correct. Thank's for the correction - I really need to get out there. I assume it's first come first serve out there - so zero change for Labor Day Weekend...

$2/foot is pretty fantastic though.

I'm also one that only goes to sailor's haven during the off season (Sept / Oct). Can anyone tell me if the path to Cherry Grove has been repaired. My wife and I like to walk over for dinner. Unfortunately after the storm last year they closed the path because it needed repair so you had to walk there via the beach

We ended up in Watch Hill. Real nice, very quite. Pete, try calling SH. I would think they fixed the path by now. But I guess it depends who's $$$$ interest is in the game. Feds or Cherry Grove.
