Since we have a hard time getting a slip in the summer at Sailors Haven, the wife and I decided to go to SH off season last Thursday. But WOW, not Whip it OUT on Wednesday, but you could [:-censored]. No one was there!!, I mean no one. The dock master said I should get a picture. So I got a few. Take a look.

Where did every one go ?

Nice pics. I sucked up enough sand at a Watch Hill slip this summer, did not want to chance Sailors Haven with all the talk of "channel outside the buoys" etc.

Did they dredge out the slips this year, how was the channel going in?

Brad... Some of us have to work dont u know ....

IS it me is is brad rubbing it in that we are all working.....

: )

Rob, I’m working today... just getting out by 12 today..... off Thursday / Friday and heading to Atlantique.

What’s the Jewish Holiday dates for next year ? This Christian needs to plan the end of next season’s boating…… ;)

Chris, they replaced most of the docks including the west end which is now relatively deep. I was told next season there will be even more improvements including the entrance will be dredged and better marked with poles and buoys.

We were able to get in twice this summer, hadn't been there for a few years. Significant improvements, IMO better than WH - although I did not get there this year and I understand they had improved as well.

Brad,
Great pics. Amazing how everyone disappears after Labor Day when school, soccer and other activities kick up. In years past, my wife and I have had great weekends away on the boat in September/October.

What Mark & Rob said.......but add a little December too.

Wow you guys are good. We usually go until around Nov 1. This year we have alot going on in the second half of October into November (weddings etc) so it looks like we will be bringing her to East Rockaway for layup when our summer contract is up Oct 15.

Don ,
ur soo full oh crap... ur boats in the water year round ... u dont use it all summer long ! now u want us to think u sue it in december ??

NOT

at least my boat doesn't break down everytime I use it !!! :) :) :)

Don,
With all due respect, your boat cannot fly like Rob's, only problem is those hard landings that Rob's boat has a problem with :)

PS, thanks for that link about Searay, I will never call it Sea Gay, but will now call it "Sea oh yeh that way honey"

You should post that link on the Sea Ray Forum.

Walter

Glad you enjoyed the Sea Ray video..........just wish I had one for my S/R

Brad, nice pics! I was hoping to get there this summer, even to anchor out and take the dinghy in, but I never made it. I used to go there a lot, but haven't in a few years. I'll have to make a point of going next year.

John, we were there for the last two weeks in a row. Was never there before except by ferry. Found it to be very nice and the new docks added to the appeal. We walked to the grove for lunch and then did the sunken forest trek as it got dark. Spooky since no one was around. It’s a keeper of a destination… But let’s keep it a secret. ;)

Heading off to Atlantique for 3 nights in about an hour.

Well u got me on that don...

Oh look its walter....

Brad, you still here? Maybe see you at Atlantic

When I first had a boat with a cabin Sailor's Haven was my first overnighting spot. I first heard of it because our high school biology class used to do a week-long trip there during senior year. Unfortunately I took chemistry so missed the trip... But I ended up doing a day trip there with my dad's boat the summer after graduation with some friends to check it out. I guess it was 6 years later when I had my own boat that I first spent the night there. I had heard of Watch Hill, but everyone at SH said the bugs are so bad better off staying here... Eventually my cousin convinced me to check out Watch Hill, and we started going there more due to more slip availability. For a while Watch Hill was my overnighting spot, SH was where I'd go for a day trip and anchor out and swim in. Haven't been there since I bought the bigger boat though.
