I added a salt dispenser to my toilet to add salt to the lectra/san. The first try at installing the syphon fitting to the system I mounted it to low and it would syphon all the water out of the container. Vic advised me to mount the fitting higher than the salt water container, which I did; however, it still syphons the container dry some of the time. What's up?

Bill,

My salt feed "T" fitting is mounted right before my pump on my head. My salt tank sits higher than the "T" fitting and I don't have a problem.

Apparently I was misunderstood. If you have the two gallon unit, the tank must be at the SAME LEVEL or LOWER THAN the in-line white plastic adapter. If it is mounted higher, the contents of the tank will tend to siphon out of the tank and go overboard.

My white plastic adapter is mounted at the same level as the high water level of the salt water tank. It will syphon the tank dry some of the time but not always.

Sounds like it's "sticking" open. Take the white nozzle fitting out of the side of it, and put it in warm, soapy water. Then poke a straightened paper clip into the hole in the nozzle several times while swishing it around in the soapy water, so that the seat of the little check valve inside is cleaned.
