They have started a Membership Drive and have cut the initiation fee in half, to $175. Please tell your friends about the club.

Their 60th Anniversary plans are underway. August 9th is the date. If you have any pictures, stories or anything else from the past be sure
to contact Sue Olsen at 925 308-4920. They have also extended an invitation for past members to rejoin and the initiation fee will be waived. If you are still in contact with a past member, let them know

Flutterby, How do I join? Do I need a sponsor? Will you sponsor me? Delta Dawg

DD, stop by the club any weekend and check it out. Visit with anyone who is out and about. Have a brew if you like. Anyone who is there can give you an "application" to complete. You need two members to sponsor you. Anyone who is around is usually willing to sign the app unless you look like a drunken bum! LOL

Within a couple of weeks, the membership chairman, my friend Adrienne Wagner, will contact you for an "interview". Show up sober and you'll do fine! Tell Adrienne how you know me... he he he

I have taken a leave of absence from the club this year due to my recent health issues so I don't qualify to sponsor you. I think you would be a great asset to the club!

Flutterby,

What are the monthly charges? My wife and I may be interested. Can the dock accommodate a 50 foot Sea Ray? Will the allow a Sea Ray owner to be part of the club?

Bill

Bill, annual dues are $350. Most folks pay $175 every six months. Yes, they can accommodate a 50 ft boat, but call in advance to give the Port Captain warning. Yes, even Sea Rays are welcome! Actually, any boat is welcome and having a boat is NOT a requirement for membership.

Rick, yes it is a member of PICYA.

Here is their website: opps! The website seems to be broken and the webmaster is traveling......

www.sjyc.org is the URL.......

Here's some aerial photos: http://marinas.com/view/marina/1775

EDIT---it is my browser settings, not the website, that is off.

Not usually. However many of the officers live on or near Bethel Island, so you may be able to make arrangements for a "tour" on Monday. Of course things will be very quiet around the club over 4th of July weekend since most members will be out at Mandeville for the fireworks!

The membership chairman is Adrienne. She can be reached at 925-308-7274 during daytime hours.

The commodore, Jon Rensen, will be happy to meet anyone at the club for a tour and to answer any questions. He lives within walking distance. He'll even buy you a drink! He can be called at (925) 684-2666, Cell (408) 209-0205 to make arrangements.

Is there anyone there on Monday, we are thinking about checking the facility out?

So Bill, did you manage to get over there?

My wife and I met Jon on Wednesday afternoon and wrote him a check for the initiation fee and we will begin the process of metriculation. It turns out that I have known one of your members for 40 years: Barry Wysling. You will be seeing a lot of our 48 Sea Ray. I have two other Willowbermers that are interested in membership. Thanks for the referral.

Bill

Ahhh yes, Barry. He is a legend on the island ;>) Glad things worked out for you! Have a great time there!!!!
