Does anyone know the gps coordnates to the entrance to the sands key channel in the bay. most maps call the area featherbed bank area the miami top spot map has the area numbered #75. this is not the sands key cut from the ocean but the on coming from miami in the bay. Thanks

your plotter doesn't show you the #s ? GE and Maptech shows 25 29 42 and 80 10 31

it's pretty shallow in there, what kind of boat do you have ? your profile says a Tiara 40, i woudn't try it ! i went thru a few times with my tender, it's 2 to 3 ft or so...

the only way into the bay with an inboard is Stilsville to the north or Ceasar and angelsfish creeks to the south

pascal... i wasnt talking about the sands key cut but the one from miami though the bay.. for some reason i cannot find the gps coordinates for the channel to elliot.. any help would be appreciated.. and i couldnt agree with you more sands key inlet is way too risky for larger vessels... thanks

oh... there are two cuts thru featherbank... the main one (ICW) and the one to the east crossing toward Boca and Sands key.

the east most one is at 25 32 35 and 80 12 70 ... that's halfway between the flashing red and the green day marker. After that, you need to turn about 30 deg to port towards the second set about a mile away near 25 31 60 and 80 11 60

you'll have 2 red markers to stbd, and one green to port. it's a little shallow at low tide in there and to the south but you still have at least 5 to 5 1/2 at low tide.

do not take any shortcut around there, if you ground the park service will charge you for bottom restoration...
