There are several sanitation hose suppliers each claiming to be the best. What's ther real truth about choosing sewer hose?

Sealand Odor Safe.

We have three heads, live aboard and lots of guests. This is something I have to be a little involved with.

Raritan has recently taken on a new brand of sanitation hose that is really neat (albeit on the pricey side). It is extremely flexible, made of laminated white butyl rubber, with an imbedded steel wire reinforcement. It can bend on a radius of less than 3.25" without kinking, will easily fit over standard hose barbs without having to heat or wrestle with the hose and the fitting, and has an abrasion-resistant outer cloth layer that has a bactericide in it, to further keep down the possibility of odor permeation. It is guaranteed against odor permeation for 5 years (just the hose, not the labor to replace it), and is chemical-resistant, both on the inside and the outside.

Boatfix hasn't picked it up as of yet, but you can find it on the Raritan website if you're interested (Les can get it for you). It is called "Sani-Flex Hose." It is only available in the 1 1/2" size, and is sold by the foot.

Replace whatever you can with pvc pipe. It is MUCH cheaper and will never permeate.
