Santego boarding ladder

My new-to-me Santego has the under the swim platform boarding ladder that seems to self launch when underway. I see a hole on the platform where I suspect a ladder tether was once attached. In viewing photos of other Santegos, it appears that it came from the factory with a nylon strap that wrapped around the rung on the ladder. Have any Santego owners improved on the factory strap to keep their ladder in the underway position?

On ours the ladder is secured with web strap and plastic snap buckle. which is attached to underside of platform.

Ken....so the strap is attached at two points-underneath the swim platform and also topside with a buckle somewhere in the middle?

Actually I believe just the buckle end is attached to the underside. I run the strap around the collective ladder rungs and snap into place. Ladder is secure and doesn't move.
