We spent the day (Saturday, March 27) on the boat. The weather couldn't have been better with a high temperature around 71, mostly sunny skies and hardly any breeze to speak of. Not many boats were out that day and those were mostly bass boats.

We dropped anchor for lunch and some kicking back.

We headed back around 6 p.m., buttoned up the boat and had dinner at Spindrift restaurant.

It's a great old boat. It's a good thing that we are never in a hurry to get anywhere on the Delta, these boats aren't quick. Over the years we've had some nice Delta boating from February through April before the spring wind kicks up.

Nice day definitely. Engines were purring along..Thats the life. On Saturday I went and anchored by the moth ball fleet and took a short lil nap on the boat..did some fishing (didnt catch anything), ate lunch and boated back to Martinez. But yea..nice day.

That moth ball fleet is a good area for sturgeon. Fishing hasn't really picked up yet in the central Delta but plenty are out there trying.

Mud Duck is a single engine with a straight bronze pipe. Low RPM with lots of torque, a flat head six is the Harley of boat engines.

Looks like Mud Duck needs a windlass. I just so happen to have a not-so-slightly-used windlass and bow roller available at a fair price!! You can even paint it to match your wood. ;-)

As usual, she's looking great, Dan.

Hey Al! No, I've kind of gotten used to anchoring by hand. Too many mods to be done for a windlass and roller. My next anchoring upgrade will probably be a lighter weight anchor like a Fortress or Danforth Hi-Tensile.

I haven't dropped into Happy Harbor lately but intend to do that pretty soon. There are a lot of cars in front of the place Friday and Saturday nights with the live music. Looks like it's a happening place right now.

Saturday was a great day. I cruised my Crownline up and down Georgiana Slough and the north fork of the Moke. Pretty much had the place to myself. I also noticed a number of bass boats. Great time of the year to cruise. While I can't wait for summer and the heat, can do without the knuckleheads and crowds that go with it.

looks great too
ive been out of touch, looking at buying a newer bigger searay
