Sea Tow or Tow Boat US

Hello fellow Long Island boaters! I have a quick question and Im sure I will get a quick answer. I boat on the Sout Shore of Long Island...THE GREAT SOUTH BAY. Who recommends Sea Tow and who recommends Boat US???? I am not looking to start a bashing session...just a quick answer. Not looking to take food out of anyones mouths just a quick opinion. I want your opinion...NOT WHAT YOUR BUDDY SAID. So Sea Tow or Boat US...thanks!

Many posts here that has asked the same question. In short my "buddy says" ha ha just kidding :). The reality here is both are good. Some are better (better coverage), depending on where you boat. I boat on the south shore of LI (Great South Bay Area) Sea Tow is better than excellent, have no experience with TBU, others have posted they too are great. What I like about Seatow is they update their members via facebook on a daily basis. Seatow IMHO is much more than a resource to get your boat towed in. Their facebook updates of my area is worth the fee they charge if I never get towed by them. With that said, if all you care about is getting towed in, IMHO, both companies will be fine.
 
I am a full sea tow member and a basic Tow Boat member. I used TB once and they did not let me down.
 
I have had Tow Boat US for 12 years, used once for a tow and once to help salvage Radio Waves after Sandy with another salvage co.

No issues and would continue with them if I had a boat :-(

Going forward, when or if I get back into a helm, I will have both. WTF, we all spend so much already on boating what is another $150-$200 more to know wherever you go, you can get the quickist service. They are both good, so flip coin and go with Heads I win Tails you lose and get both.

I have both now as I really appreciate all sea tow has and is doing after Sandy . Boat us doesn't post any updates about anything . Boat us did tow me a few years ago and did a great job . That was my only tow experience

I think it depends on the coverage in your specific locality and how that local franchise is run. In our area, ST is on the radio all the time and has a local contact phone number. I tried to reach BUS for somebody we came upon disabled and I couldn't raise them on the VHF or get through on a phone. But I could go someplace else and have the opposite result, so the idea of having both is a good one.
 
I have both like Walter. SeaTow is awesome. Both companies cover my area, central/ south Jersey quite well.
