I've posted a couple of times on this topic over the years. The state and feds are making a lot of promises about fixing Bay and Delta environmental problems if they can dig their canal. How realistic is that?

Consider this: municipal sewage dumps have gone ignored for fifty years. It's not just a Bay problem, either. It happens upriver just as often.

I don't reside in her district. Ever hear of congressional districts?

When it is all settled down, they will blame the high baterial count on boats.

Baykeeper, the environmental group that is mentioned in the article doesn't have a problem with Type 1 or Type III systems on boats. They know the significant problem is municipal sewage discharge and agricultural/residential run-off. If environmental and boating groups work together it isn't long before mutual interests dominate their agendas. State and fed organizations crack down on boaters when local businesses or environmental groups start to complain. When you have boaters dumping illegally then it gets tough and boaters should self-police. A few illegal boats in a well-known anchorage can ruin it for everyone else.

Is that a reason not to call her and express your cocerns? Or is this not a concern big enough to merit you getting involved except to bitch?

Oh, I get involved but with my elected officials where I have a change of getting results.

You know, personal attacks and trolling like this are reasons why BE is such a teeny tiny forum nowadays. I visit a forum that caters mostly to people who make little wooden canoes, dinghies and sailboats and it get 50 times the posts that BE does.
