Made the most of a so-so weather weekend. Went over to Shattemuc Saturday, around 5 pm, just as the sun came out. The view from the transient dock was beautiful, and the docks are wide, cement and very sturdy. Ate dinner at the Boathouse, then back to our marina by noon on Sunday. It was a great spot for a quick overnight getaway. Will definitely do it again!

Good to know! I was thinking of heading to your marina for an overnight, nice dinner, etc. A quick get-away and change of scenery...for all of the years I've been on this side of the river I have not been inside Shattemuc! I really need to check it out, I hear they have a great clubhouse, nice pool and good people.

I've heard Shattemuc allows for guest docking while at the local restaurants. Wondering how that works? I know to stay for a lengthy stay they use the dockwa app. Just looking to dock for a couple hours for dinner nearby.

How big is your boat? Shattemuc has a relationship with The Boathouse which is right next door across the main fairway as you pull in. There are docks at The Boathouse but they are limited. I believe you can call Shattemuc and ask for a slip for The Boathouse but I don't know if they will be open to you visiting other restaurants in the area. You would have to call.

Boathouse has it's own dock, although it is not very big. You can dock at Shattemuc for 2 hours for free. They don't check which restaurant you are going to.

I recently became stumped until yesterday - my wife wants to buy a yacht. She wants one, although she doesn't say what it's for. As a decent loving husband, I want to give her a gift, but it's not a yacht. It's not even a boat that she could sail. Is it worth the investment in the purchase? I know there is a rental company where you can rent a yacht for a few days. Is it even worth spending on gifts like this if my wife won't tell me anything and can't be honest with me? She is 53 years old now and I don't think she has anyone, she just looks too young. It's not jealousy, it's just a simple perplexity.

I am thoroughly confused by this, and I can't be the only one...

What are you asking?

Just inane blather to create a presence on yet another internet platform, methinks.

Guys this is New York, you don't acknowledge the crazy rants and never ever look them in the eye, just keep walking.

See what happens when you let country bumpkins from New Hampshire wander into your forum... 🤣
