Flutter,
I've never been a heavy drinker, in fact about the only time I drink is on the boat on the weekends - when I am settled in and won't be driving. Life is doing good, and the last thing I need is to screw it up because of drinking! You are right about tequilla - no carbs is just a rationalization - I know its not good...
So glad to hear you are doing well - it's funny how fast a change like not drinking can change how you feel, and how fast your body can recover. I quit smoking my cigars a few months ago, and I feel so much better! I feel so good, it is hard to want to go back, as addicting as nicotine is.
I'm kind of new to the Delta. About 20 years back I had a 36' race boat and came to the Delta a few times, and got lost... It was pre-GPS and the delta can be a bit confusing. I've been through a lot of boats and learned a lot since, and two years back I brought my 27 ft down from Tahoe at the end of the season to see if I would like the delta. It was love at first sight! I boated last year on the 27, almost every weekend, and in Sept boutght a 3270 Bayliner for a little more room. So much of the Delta is slow, so the 3270 is just fine. I have a little SeaDoo Explorer - its a jet ski in the middle of a 14' ridgid bottom inflatable - so when I want to go fast, I can. It's also kind of neat in that I can tow it without worring about bumping into the big boat like a normal jet boat. Anyway, I am down almost every weekend, and usually 4-5 day weekends. I have a Wife and 2 boys, 12 & 14, but I would say over 1/2 the time I am by myself - not everyone is as passionate about boating as me!
It is sure nice to hear from a female who loves the water too! As you have come to see, it's the people that boat that I really enjoy - a good bunch. We will definately have to get together someday - maybe have a get-together with a bunch from this site.
Didn't mean to write a book here...
