When our boat (a fast trawler) is stationary the forward bilge always has some standing water in it. To try to keep this area dry I installed a small bilge pump with a discharge hose routed to the sump pump box. I rigged it up this way rather than put in another thru-hull.
Is this a kluge? Other than double pumping and more frequent cleaning of the sump pump is there a reason not to this? Also would it be preferable to use a "T" connector and share a thru-hull?
I know that I could install another thru-hull but prefer not to add yet another hole in the hull.
Any ideas/comments would be appreciated.
