So quiet

Agreed!
Altho not an HRCC or LICC member, I've always enjoyed (and appreciated) reading what I considered the busiest 2 threads (other than ATC) of the BE forum...it has felt noticeably more quiet this year.

I hope everyone is well!! Happy New Year to all!

Happy New Year to all, as well. I just got my tickets for the boat show; going tomorrow. Stay warm and well, my friends. Hy

Just got an email from a friend who says he'll divide 2014 into two simple parts:
1. Boating Season
2. Severe Depression
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy and healthy New Year to all. I can't believe it's going to snow, again.

Ok, I'm awake and still here! Haven't contributed much this year but still active on the water here and there (I was "down" with a knee replacement which took me out in May and just recently got back to work). Happy New years to all my BE friends! Adam

Happy New Year my BE friends. I think things are quieter here is because on how we are all now connected on other social media sites. Before that, this was the place for not only boating stuff, but just saying hi, and how are you.
With Facebook,
I see every-time and place Don goes with is RV, I feel like I live with RobSki and his family, Mark is a bit shy on FB, Gees, even Gizmo (Daves dog) has his on Facebook page :)

There are other here though that don't do FB. This is a great site and the LICC forum is awesome

Best wishes to all for a prosperous, healthy and fun 2014!

Adam: I know how you feel about the knee replacement. I've had both of mine replaced, at different times. It's a real pain until you get back on your feet; total healing about a year. I remember that in rehab right after surgery (North Shore Glen Cove Hospital) we used to joke that they only hired cute therapists, male and female; otherwise, we'd kill the little ba.....s because evrything they did hurt! Good luck with your recovery. PS. Tell your wife to get used to waiting when you go through security at airports. TSA doesn't care about the little ID card you got; they search like like you're a threat! Sray safe, Hy

Well we can make some noise about the snow today.
And what's up with Cuomo saying he will close LIE and parkways this afternoon?
How does he expect everyone to get home from work? On side streets?
Last time all the car's got stuck was not because they were on the ride, it's because the plows wait too long to come out and plow to save overtime!
Here is a idea, tell all the State Politicions to stay home today, they won't accomplish much anyway after the holidays and most are off anyway, use their salary to pay the overtime to the hard working plow guys!

Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. The light snow today just makes things a little slippery. Highway supervisor here in Brookhaven says they're going to go light on salting and sanding because it'll only be plowed away when the snow gets heavy tonight and tomorrow> What about today? Are people just supposed to slide around so the town can save on salt costs? That's one reason I went to the boat show yesterday - to forget all about this kind of nonesense for a while. Stay safe, my friends. Hy

Since when does the Gov. call the shots for the city........where is the new Mayor ?

....and yes.....a special thank you to the hard working members of Teamster Local 831.... for keeping the streets of the city plowed.

HOMO was talking about Nassau and Suffolk county. I read that and I laughed... The guys a fing tool.

The city is sanding the crap out the streets and parkway . Its been drizzling here so the sidewalks and roads are very slippery.

Going to be a fun ride home ...

All the best guys ...

Rob

Stay safe everyone!

And Walter, I totally agree, with most of us on FB a lot of the idle winter chatting we may have done before is there. We have Rob entertaining us non-stop ;)
