I know some would say that you shouldn't go faster than hull speed in fog, under any circumstance. I must admit, I've been guilty of going faster than that. If it's foggy, I won't head out, but I have been caught in some while on a long trip. I'll have someone on watch, I have a radar that I trust, and if I'm far out (say over 10 miles), I don't see much risk of collision with another boat. There is a chance of running into a small floating object, but that's pretty rare where I'm boating.

What do others do when running in fog? How about after dark?
